Hero's latest entry into the 125cc segment, the Glamour X 125, has arrived with a starting price of Rs 89,999. It's being hailed as the most futuristic motorcycle in its class by the brand. This bike is equipped with features like cruise control, technology that has trickled down from larger, more expensive models, making it the most accessible motorcycle to offer this convenience. Let's delve into the details of the new Hero Glamour X 125 and see how it measures up against the Glamour 125. For clarity, we will refer to the latter as the "original Glamour."

Design Evolution
The Glamour X 125 has undergone a visual transformation, boasting a more contemporary and aggressive stance. The front features a new all-LED headlight, complemented by a pair of distinct "H"-shaped LED DRLs (referring to 'Hero', not 'Honda'). This signature "H" pattern is mirrored at the rear, with LED taillamps and even LED indicators, giving the top variant a complete LED lighting package.
The prominent "Glamour" 3D badge is now smaller and has been repositioned from the top of the tank to the sharp, new side shrouds. The entire design language is more angular, featuring a longer visor and a new underbelly plastic cover. Despite the aesthetic addition, the ground clearance remains unchanged at 170mm.
In terms of dimensions, the motorcycle is slightly longer than its predecessor, measuring 2045mm. The seat height has been lowered by 3mm, now at a comfortable 790mm, and the seats themselves are both longer and wider. The graphics are new, adopting a safer, more conventional commuter aesthetic, and new chromium accents have been added to appeal to a broader audience. The handlebars are also a bit wider than those on the original Glamour. The bike comes in five different colour options, including a matte grey finish.
The Glamour X 125 retains the same tyre and alloy wheel specifications as the original Glamour, featuring 80/100-18 tubeless tyres at the front and 100/80-18 tubeless tyres at the back. The top-end variants of the Glamour X have seen a 5 kg weight increase compared to the original Glamour, bringing the total weight of the Glamour X to 127 kg.
Innovative Feature Set
The motorcycle is equipped with a suite of segment-first features that set it apart from its competitors. Highlights include:
Cruise Control: A first for a 125cc motorcycle, this feature provides a more relaxed riding experience on open roads.
Ride-by-Wire Throttle: This advanced electronic system ensures precise and immediate throttle response.
Three Riding Modes: Riders can select from Eco, Road, and Power modes to customise the bike's performance based on their preference and environment.
Low-Battery Kickstart: A unique feature that allows the motorcycle to be started with the kick lever even if the battery is low.
Colour LCD Display: The new instrument cluster offers Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.
Charging Port: A C-Type fast charging port is also made available below the LCD display.
Panic Brake Alert: A safety-oriented feature that alerts other road users with a flashing light during emergency braking.
Storage Space: A small storage space has been included under the seat.
Despite its impressive list of additions, the Hero Glamour X 125 does not come with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), not even a single-channel one. This is a notable omission, likely a strategic choice to keep the price point competitive. However, it’s a feature that may be added in the future if new government regulations are introduced.
Engine and Performance
The new Glamour X 125 utilises the same 124.7cc air-cooled, 4-stroke engine as the original Glamour. However, the engine has been optimised to produce 11.4 bhp, matching the power output of the Hero Xtreme 125R. Torque has also increased by 0.1 Nm, now standing at 10.4 Nm.

Hero promises that, despite the performance upgrades, there will be no compromise on fuel efficiency, claiming a mileage of 65 kmpl, which is on par with the original Glamour.
Pricing
The top variant of the new Hero Glamour X is priced at Rs 99,999. The top-spec original Glamour Disc variant is priced at Rs 91,198, making it slightly more expensive than the Glamour X’s base model, which retails for Rs 89,999. The base original Glamour Drum variant is the most affordable at Rs 87,198.
With this launch, Hero's 125cc lineup now includes the Glamour X, Glamour XTEC, Super Splendor XTEC, and Xtreme 125R, all of which are ready to compete fiercely in the market.
