2026 Honda City facelift launched at ₹11.99 lakh!

The sixth-generation Honda City has received a major facelift! First unveiled in 2020, this is the second mid-life update of the sedan (the first being in 2023 with mild updates) The 2026 Honda City gets a completely new front fascia, some more styling tweaks, more features on the inside and is launched at ₹11.99 lakh.

Exterior

The exterior of the Honda City gets major changes. Up front there's a new split-grille with honeycomb pattern, sleeker LED headlights with new DRLs and a new bumper. The fog lamps are replaced by air ducts for better aerodynamics. Honda has also repositioned its brand logo — it now sits above the grille. The result is the front end looks muscular, which may remind you of the old Kia K5 or the Toyota Camry, but with a big grille. At the rear it's mostly carry-over—a subtle spoiler, a hint of a diffuser, and new clear-lens tail lights.

It gets a fresh new design for the 16-inch alloys. Overall, the City looks much sportier and keeps an aggressive stance that bespeaks Honda.

Interior

Minor changes inside the car. You finally get ventilated front seats and a 360-degree parking camera that can be activated by a button on the indicator stalk. A bigger 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and connected car tech, a seven-inch partly digital instrument cluster, and eight speaker sound system remain unchanged. The steering wheel has the same four-spoke, with multiple controls, but now with the blacked-out ‘H’ badge carried over from the front. Soft touch materials used on the dual-tone dashboard, ambient lighting, and slightly redesigned new trim pieces, to maintain the premium feel.

Engine and Performance

The powertrains in the new facelift remain unchanged as in the previous model. It gets a 1498cc, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC petrol engine, which pushes out 119bhp and 145Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual or a The hybrid powertrain also remains the same on the City e:HEV. It gets the same 1.5-litre engine, coupled to an e-motor. The total output of this system is 124bhp, and it boasts a 27.26kmpl fuel efficiency.

Price and Rivals

Even with these upgrades, Honda has decided not to increase the price of the City facelift. It starts at ₹11.99 lakh, ex-showroom, onwards, and the hybrid variant demands ₹20.99 lakh.  The City remains competitively priced against its chief competitors Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia.
