Gunther Werks Project Endgame revealed: 840 bhp, one-off Speedster

Gunther Werks has revealed ‘Project Endgame’, a one-off Speedster based on the 993-generation Porsche 911, packing 840 bhp and weighing just under 1200 kg.

This is effectively the final chapter of the brand’s Speedster programme, but with a twist. While Gunther Werks plans to build 75 Turbo models, this is the only open-top version, making it a true one-off.

The numbers are predictably serious. A 4.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six produces 840bhp and 895Nm, which in a car this light suggests performance that borders on excessive. The engine itself is motorsport-derived and features a flat-fan setup for consistent cooling.

What stands out just as much is the detailing. The car wears a red-and-gold finish, with several components, including the intercoolers and gear lever, finished in gold. It is not subtle, but then it is not meant to be.

Underneath, it is still rooted in the 993-generation 911, but extensively reworked. Carbon-fibre body panels, a reinforced chassis, and re-engineered aerodynamics all contribute to the performance gains.

The Speedster format means there is no fixed roof, which makes this version unique among the upcoming Turbo models. It is as much about theatre as it is about outright speed.

Gunther Werks says every element has been developed in close collaboration with the client, down to the smallest details. That is typical of coachbuilt projects at this level, where individuality matters as much as engineering.
