Maruti Suzuki has finally put full purchase prices on its first electric SUV. The e Vitara now sits between Rs 15.99 lakh and Rs 20.01 lakh ex-showroom, depending on the variant. That makes it one of the more aggressively priced long-range electric SUVs in the segment.
Variant-wise pricing
- Delta 49kWh – Rs 15.99 lakh
- Zeta 61kWh – Rs 17.49 lakh
- Alpha 61kWh – Rs 19.79 lakh
- Alpha 61kWh Dual Tone – Rs 20.01 lakh
These introductory prices include the home charger, installation, and survey, which matters because those costs can add up quickly.
Where BaaS fits in
In addition to outright purchase, Maruti Suzuki continues to offer the Battery as a Service model. Under this structure, the car starts at Rs 10.99 lakh, with battery usage charged at Rs 3.99 per km. In simple terms, you either pay more upfront and own the battery, or lower the entry price and pay as you use it. For high-mileage urban users, that calculation could swing either way. The flexibility itself is the bigger talking point.
What you get for the money
The e Vitara is offered with two battery packs.
- 49kWh with 142bhp and 193Nm
- 61kWh with 172bhp and 193Nm
The larger battery delivers an ARAI claimed range of 543km, while the smaller pack is rated at 440km. Both are Front Wheel Drive.
Top variants add Level 2 ADAS, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, 10.25-inch digital cluster, ventilated seats, Infinity audio and a 360-degree camera. Maruti also claims a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating.
The SUV rides on the new HEARTECT e platform and uses a multi-link rear suspension, which is not something every rival offers at this price point.
The bigger picture
At Rs 15.99 lakh to Rs 20.01 lakh, the e Vitara is clearly positioned to sit right in the middle of the electric SUV battlefield. It undercuts some established rivals while offering a larger battery option and competitive range. The BaaS model at Rs 10.99 lakh widens the net further, especially for buyers hesitant about battery longevity or upfront EV costs.
