2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS 600 Maybach | Epitome of luxury ?

After the makeover of the GLE and GLE Coupé, the Mercedes-Benz GLS, Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC, and Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4MATIC+ have also been revised. A variety of design, technological, and equipment upgrades elevate the big SUV model series' comfort, connection, and ambiance to new heights.

The SUV models, with their large outer proportions, provide internal capacity for up to seven people in three seat rows. The improved Mercedes-Benz GLS will be available in European dealerships by the end of October 2023, while the market debut in the United States will begin in mid-September 2023.

Mercedes-Benz GLS: Aesthetic and functional off-road characteristics

The new Mercedes-Benz GLS models are distinguished by an even more prominent radiator grille. The four louvers are galvanized in high-quality Silver Shadow galvanized steel. The bumper is also more visible aesthetically. It has integrated air intake grilles as well as a high-gloss black surround. The huge simulated under guard (standard equipment) has been rebuilt as well. The inside of the lights with three horizontal blocks is the focal point at the back. The wheel lineup has been expanded with the addition of a new 20-inch multi-spoke light-alloy wheel in Himalayan gray with a high-sheen finish.

As previously stated, the Mercedes-Benz GLS comes standard with seven seats. Two additional leather colors are available: Catalana beige and Bahia brown. The interior trim finishes have also been updated. Glossy brown lime wood has become the norm. The MANUFAKTUR glossy black flowing lines piano lacquer trim piece, formerly reserved for the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC, is now available for the Mercedes-Benz GLS family.

The louvers of the center and side air vents are galvanized in Silver Shadow, a design cue borrowed from the Mercedes-Maybach GLS.

Most GLS drivers only ride on paved roads or in relatively tough off-road terrain. As a result, Mercedes-Benz has revised the scope of the Off-Road Engineering package. An underride guard and 30 mm higher ground clearance are among the features.

The revised iteration of the MBUX infotainment system gives a fresh design for the displays. The displays may be customized using three distinct styles (classic, athletic, and discreet) and three modes (Navigation, Assistance, Service). The driver chooses "classic" for the tried-and-true two-tube style with all the known material between the two circular displays. The color red dominates "Sporty," with a dynamic design for the center rev counter. The text is condensed to the essentials in "discreet" style. Moreover, the screens may be shown in seven different color schemes in combination with the ambient illumination. As a result, the interior has an outstanding color experience. The center display provides the same material as before and may be operated as a touchscreen directly and conveniently.

With the latest MBUX version, the "Off-Road Mode" transforms specific material such as grade, lateral inclination, compass, and steering angle into a visual experience. It has the "transparent bonnet" function thanks to the standard Parking Package with 360-degree camera. When the Offroad mode is selected, the center display displays a simulated view of the vehicle's front end. The photos from the 360°camera are used to create the view. Obstacles such as huge stones or deep potholes on the road ahead can be easily identified with the "transparent bonnet."

All-wheel drive and a pulling power-optimized gear ratio allow for a high trailer load of up to 3.5 tonnes and a tongue weight of up to 140 kg. The trailer connection contains two extra bolts on the ball neck that may be used to support a suitable bicycle carrier. It has a weight capacity of 100 kg, so it can transport e-bikes as well.

Trailer Maneuvering Assist, the revised Trailer menu in the center display, and the Trailer route planner are all useful extra features for towing. While traveling with a caravan, this might be used to discover the best routes.

Mercedes-Maybach GLS: even more exceptional luxury refined

The top model's high-quality radiator grille is distinguished by vertical chrome bars and "Maybach" writing. The air intake grilles have a Maybach motif with a chrome surround. A 23-inch forged wheel in the classic Maybach style with forged wheel bolt cover is now available as an option.

Ambient lighting with dynamic projection of the Mercedes-Maybach pattern is another new standard feature. Inside, a new seat cover design emphasizes the Mercedes-notably Maybach's sumptuous nature. The seat surfaces and backrests now have high-quality diamond-pattern quilting with particular holes in the center parts. The interior color combinations MANUFAKTUR crystal white/silver gray pearl and MANUFAKTUR mahogany brown/macchiato beige are available only for the Mercedes-Maybach.
