Cars to be Facelifted in 2024

India is an ever-evolving market that requires automakers to always be on their toes with the latest and greatest features for their models. Facelifting the launched models is the best way to make them competitive against their rivals. You will find all the cars that are slated to get updates shortly.

Maruti Suzuki Swift

The Swift is one of the most popular hatchbacks launched in the Indian market of all time. Its position recently got challenged by the Baleno, which has slowly become the most selling car in India. The current generation of Swift was introduced in 2017 and needs to catch up to the competition in some aspects. The 2024 Swift is already available in Japan and is expected to come to India soon. It will get some design updates with sharper lines and redesigned front and back. The interior will also see an overhaul in both aesthetics and features. An engine change is also on the card, with the 1.2-litre three-cylinder DualJet petrol engine replacing the 1.2-litre K12M engine.

Mahindra XUV300

When launched in 2019, the XUV300 was a force to reckon with in the compact SUV category. Eventually, it became outdated with the launch of competitors like Venue, Fronx, Nexon and Sonet. While it is still one of the most powerful cars in the range, it requires an overhaul of the interior and the exterior. Mahindra is gearing up to facelift the SUV as soon as the first half of this year. If spy shots are believed, it will get updated headlamps, a new grill, new alloy wheels, and connected DRLs on the rear. It could get new features like a 360-degree camera, ambient lighting and ADAS. The engine choices are expected to remain the same, but the facelift might get an automatic variant.

Mahindra Thar 5-door

Since its launch in 2020, the Mahindra Thar has become the most popular off-road SUV in the Indian market. It caters well to the urban youth who want a car to stand out. The only issue with the current generation of the Thar is its practicality. The 5-door variant is a stretched-out version of the Thar underpinned by the same chassis and powertrain. The design is also expected to be the same. Mahindra plans to launch the 5-door variant of the Thar by the middle of 2024.

Hyundai Alcazar

The Alcazar is Hyundai's 7-seat version of the Creta. Its competition has gotten the better of it recently, with the XUV700 and Safari offering better packages in their latest iterations. Hyundai plans to update the Alcazar with a facelift to cover this gap. This facelift will change the design with new bumpers, fresh alloy wheels, and connected tail lamps on the rear. It is also expected to get a fresh interior with a connected digital instrument panel and infotainment display of 10.25 inches each, ADAS and ventilated seats. The powertrain options would remain the same. It is expected to launch by Mid-2024.

Tata Altroz

Tata's premium hatchback, Altroz, has not received an update since its launch in January 2020. It is already facing fierce competition from the Baleno and i20, with the Baleno almost touching the 20 thousand sales mark in January. Tata is planning to facelift the Altroz in 2024. It might get a few design changes, but the alloy wheels are expected to be identical. The interior will be the talk of the town as it might get the 10.25-inch infotainment display from the Nexon and Punch EV, ventilated front seats, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, six airbags, wireless charging and an air purifier. The engine options are expected to be the same as before. Tata hasn't specified a date for the launch, but it will likely be in 2024.

MG Gloster

Gloster is the flagship model of the MG Motor India. While it offers luxury features and ample space at all seats, it competes with one of the most sought-after and respected models in India, the Fortuner. It needs to be worth every rupee to keep itself in the competition. MG has decided to work on this with a facelift to the Gloster in 2024. The 2024 Gloster will get added bodywork on the front and rear. The interior has an updated dashboard, fresh infotainment display and a new centre console that will house a drive mode selector. The engines will be continued without change. While we don't have a date for its launch, it is slated for 2024.
