Honda Elevate Vs Rivals |The Game For The Throne!

The mid-size SUV segment has seen some fierce competition over the past few years and now Honda is ready to dip its toes into the segment with their latest mid-size SUV. The Honda Elevate looks different from anything else in the segment and as a result has seen a crazy amount of buzz around it. The Honda Elevate has a David vs Goliath like situation coming up because it rivals established players in the segment like the Hyundai Creta & the Kia Seltos in addition to many other contenders.

Dimensions:

The Elevate boasts the highest ground clearance and boot space in the segment. But the wheels seem a tad small for the size at 16 inches, all others in the segment have 17 inchers. The Suzuki-Toyota duo top the charts for length while the Astor comes out to be the widest in the segment. The upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross also seems like a tough competitor on paper.

Powertrain:

The 1.5 litre 4-cylinder on the Honda City sedan resumes duty on the new Honda Elevate, this will be the only engine available with the car at launch with a CVT or MT to put the power down at launch. Although, a EV version of the Elevate has been confirmed.

Hybrid powertrains are only available with the Suzuki-Toyota duo while the Koreans are the only ones available with Diesel powertrains.

The Elevate’s limited powertrain options in comparison to other players in the segment may shy away some buyers but that is always a variable to be seen.

Price:

We already know the pricing on the competitors, which are:

-       Hyundai Creta: INR 10.87 – 17.70 Lakh

-       Kia Seltos: INR 10.89 – 15.90 Lakh

-       Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: INR 10.70 – 17.07 Lakh

-       Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: INR 10.73 – 17.31 Lakh

-       MG Astor: INR 10.82 – 17.30 Lakh

-       Volkswagen Taigun: INR 11.62 – 17.35 Lakh

-       Skoda Kushaq: INR 11.59 – 18.09 Lakh

The official launch for the C3 Aircross will reveal the prices for that but we assume that it will be priced between INR 11.5 – 17 Lakh. Meanwhile, the Elevate’s pricing is due to be revealed during the upcoming festive season but our predictions for that are between INR 12 – 17 Lakh. This is the price point that the segment revolves around, but all this for now is purely speculation from our side. Who will claim the throne of the mid-size SUV segment remains to be seen, soon!
