Kia to unveil 2 new EV Concepts

At this year's EV Day event, where it will also disclose the specific details of the EV5 small SUV and provide us with additional information about its future ambitions, Kia revealed that it will debut two new entirely electric concepts. The Korean manufacturer released a few ominous photo and video teasers teasing the addition of "three new small- to medium-sized electric models" to its current portfolio of EVs.

The current Kia EV6 GT is the first vehicle from the left in the photo teaser, according to a closer inspection. One of the latest ideas showcasing upcoming production vehicles is a low-slung coupe-sedan with vertical LEDs at the front and crossover style elements next to it. The new EV5 small SUV, together with what appears to be the EV4 sub-compact SUV and the EV9 flagship, can be seen in the center with its shape and distinctive lights.

The press statement states that once the all-new EV5 makes its production debut at the Chengdu Motor Show in China in August, Kia will also reveal the full details of its specs. We are already aware that the electric Sportage rival is 4,615 mm (181.7 inches) long and is built on the E-GMP platform. The Chinese-spec version is anticipated to be available with a front-mounted electric motor producing 215 horsepower (160 kW / 218 PS) and drawing power from BYD's Blade lithium iron phosphate battery pack. Specifications may vary depending on the area.

On October 12, the yearly Kia EV Day celebration will take place in Yeoju, Korea, where we will discover all there is to know about the next models.
