Leapmotor announces JV with Stellantis; India entry by September 2024

Leapmotor, a Chinese EV brand, has announced a joint venture with Stellantis, forming Leapmotor International, a 51/49 Stellantis-led company. Leapmotor International has planned to begin its India operations by September 2024. Entry in markets such as Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa as well as South America is also planned in Q4 2024. Leapmotor International has global expansion plans and the brand is planning to boost scale very quickly with the help of Stellantis and its distribution in various markets. 

The brand will launch the T03 electric hatchback and the C10 electric crossover first, with one new model to be introduced every year for the next three years. The T03 electric hatchback boasts a claimed WLTP range of 265km, while the C10 electric crossover gets a 420km WLTP range along with a 5-star E-NCAP crash safety rating. However, Leapmotor has not yet confirmed which models it will begin its India operations with.
