Indian Racing Festival | RPPL & JK Tyre Host Maiden Showrun In Srinagar

The stance of Indian motorsport is transforming rapidly, as enthusiasts witnessed the first-ever motorsport event take place in the majestic surroundings of Dal Lake at Boulevard Road in Jammu and Kashmir. This is a remarkable message to showcase Kashmir's capacity to host significant events that contribute to uplifting the Valley's socio-economic status. Racing Promotions Private Limited (RPPL) also hosted a maiden IRF promotional show run with the vision of diversifying motorsport sub-cultures in India. The show run was organized in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Tourism, indicating a positive approach to widen the Valley's appeal with adventure-sport.

The residents of Srinagar were treated to a delightful glimpse of the upcoming racing season. RPPL and JK Tyre organized a showcase event that featured the Wolf GB08 cars and Formula 4 cars. The event was graced by several young driving sensations, including Sohil Shah, one of the two champions of IRL 2023, Rishon Rajeev, the Formula 4 Vice Champion, and Shriya Lohia, a skilled Formula 4 India driver.

The showcase event piqued the audience's inquisitiveness and raised their expectations for the upcoming racing season. Witness high-octane action on Dal Lake's 1.6 km stretch as engines roar against majestic mountains and shimmering waters, drawing crowds from all walks of life. The event also featured an adrenaline-pumping drift show by India's drifting champion Sanam Sekhon. Pratik Dalal showcased skilful manoeuvres in Lexus and BMW cars. The event also had an adrenaline-filled performance on four wheels led by India's rally veteran, Hari Singh. The 10-year-old karting prodigies from Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru & Chennai also pushed the limits at breakneck speeds of 120 km/hr, delivering excitement beyond the tarmac.

"We are delighted to be bringing the greatest celebration of Indian motorsport to Srinagar. This collaboration between India's two biggest racing programmes, the JK Tyre National Racing Championship, and RPPL promoted Indian Racing Festival, is ushering Indian motorsport into a bright new era. Introducing international standards to the domestic racing circuit, the Indian Racing Festival has everything it needs to identify local Indian talent at the grassroots and take them to the very top of the international motor-racing pyramid." said Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Head-Motorsport, JK Tyre & Industries
