Staying true to Porsche’s legacy, a Porsche never disappoints. Stepping inside the car and grabbing the steering wheel, feeling the Race-Tex on the wheel already had my adrenaline pumping. Just the aura of being in the driver’s seat brought the feeling of wanting to slice through the air, and that is exactly what I did. Starting, I wanted to experience every bit of this machine which comes with a powerful 93.4kWh battery with dual electric motors. With the progressive all-wheel-drive system and adaptive air suspension with PASM, I felt confident in the car and pressed on the pedal. Now let me tell you, I was transported into a high-speed dream wanting to break free from all barriers when I felt the initial torque. Through a 2-speed automatic transmission gearbox, the car pumps 750 horsepower and 1050 NM of torque and does 0-100 km/h in 2.8 secs. One piece of advice for you all if you want to do a launch, better be prepared and brace yourself mentally to feel the forces you are going against. The impressive acceleration and the instant punch just truly amazed me. Within no time, I was driving the car at a high pace, and thanks to the 2-speed gearbox, the car had a constant pace without any lag, which had me grinning. The petrolhead in me was intrigued to test out the electric sports sound, which 100% added a satisfying touch.

Interesting facts: The Porsche Taycan Turbo S is the safety car in Formula E, and it also shares the 2-speed automatic gearbox from the Formula E program. The Taycan Turbo S even held the lap record at the renowned Nurburgring until recently, when its rival, the Tesla Plaid S beat it.

As I said before, Porsche never disappoints. The Taycan Turbo S symbolizes the true definition of “On the edge of Perfection”; while driving on curvy roads at high speed, it hugs the road. The handling dynamics pairs amazingly well with power considering the car weighs 2295 kg. The car glides through the corners so effortlessly and feels extremely precise. Take this from a race car driver who is always juggling between understeer and oversteer. We just know how much steering input is the right amount. Porsche has also given many aids such as PTV Plus (Porsche Torque Vectoring), Porsche Recuperation Management, 4D Chassis control, and rear-wheel steering to better the handling. In addition to this, the adaptive air suspension is a boon for the Indian roads to tackle speed breakers and a bit of rough terrain.

Talking about Indian roads, we surely need powerful brakes. Yet again, the race car driver in me was awakened; the 10-piston carbon ceramic brakes at the front and 4-piston at the rear, with the brake callipers painted in yellow, is like adding a cherry on top. They serve looks and use of the car. One extra feature you may like is the Sports Chrono package, where you can time yourself and check out your lap times.

It also has various driving modes, starting from Range mode to Normal to Sport and Sport Plus. The Range Mode means activation of efficiency and energy-saving settings for longer runs, while on the other end, the Sports Plus means activation of the thrilling high-performance setting, including lowering the car to its lowest setting and launch control too.
